At Hackensack Meridian Urgent Care at American Dream in East Rutherford, NJ, we understand that life is unpredictable and health concerns can arise at any time. That's why our conveniently located urgent care center at 1 American Dream Way, Suite C147 in Bergen County is here to provide you with prompt, high-quality medical care—without the long wait times of an emergency room. This center is part of Hackensack Meridian Vitality Suites which houses several other health and general wellness services, including occupational health, physical therapy, dermatology, and Red Light Therapy, also known as Photobiomodulation (PBM) Therapy.

Dedicated urgent care parking is available and can be found upon entering the American Dream parking lot B/C entrance ramp off of American Dream Way (across the street from the Arena) - Lot C level 1, just inside the mall entrance on the right.

How Do I Know If I Should go To Urgent Care Or The ER?
Urgent Care is for injuries or illnesses that are not life threatening. Therefore, we recommend going to the Emergency Department with the following conditions:
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- Loss of consciousness
- Sudden loss of vision or blurred vision
- Acute mental health issues or suicidal feelings
- Change in mental status or stroke symptoms
i.e. Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm or leg, sudden confusion, difficulty speaking or understanding what is being said. Sudden loss of balance or loss of coordination.
What is Behavioral Health with Urgent Care?
Traditional urgent care centers have been around for over 40 years, providing quick and affordable walk-in care for life’s minor bumps, bruises, coughs, and colds.
Hackensack Meridian Health is the first in the nation to develop an urgent care with additional services to directly provide immediate care for mental and behavioral health issues and concerns (where there are no immediate safety risks).
Urgent care with Behavioral Health does not replace your regular psychiatrist or mental health professional or when going to the nearest hospital emergency room is necessary.
