Ada Esther Aponte, MD
I am a pediatrician who was born and raised in the Bronx, NY. I have been in practice since 2007 with several areas of experience. For the past 11 years, I have solely cared for newborns and their families. I enjoy sharing in the excitement of a new addition to families of all different backgrounds. In recent years, I have also attended high-risk deliveries and cared for premature infants in a NICU setting. In my role as director of the newborn nursery, I hope to create a place where families feel supported and comfortable with their new baby.
Philosophy of Care
I treat every newborn as my own child. I try my best to listen to parent concerns and put them at ease. Over the years, I’ve learned that it is important to involve all family members that will be caring for the baby - even including (when appropriate) the extended family. Family-centered care in the nursery is just as important as in other clinical settings. I have found that it helps to connect further with families and ensure their confidence in my overall care of their child.
