Adil F. Niaz, D.O., is a board-certified, dual fellowship trained neurologist who specializes in headache medicine and facial pain. Dr. Niaz is a member of the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at Jersey Shore University Medical Center team, offering expert diagnosis and coordinated care for all types of headaches. He is supported by highly trained neurology specialists, with access to the latest technologies and treatment options.
Dr. Niaz completed his advanced subspecialty fellowship training in headache medicine and facial pain at Yale University School of Medicine and the Yale New Haven Health System in New Haven, CT. Prior to this, he did his neurology residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, VA, where he was honored to serve as chief resident in his final year of training. He also pursued additional fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at VCU.
Dr. Niaz diagnoses and manages a comprehensive range of headache and facial pain conditions, including cervicogenic headaches, chronic daily headaches, cluster headaches, concussion-related headaches, episodic and chronic migraine, facial pain, hypnic headaches, headaches during pregnancy and post-partum, menstrual migraine, new daily persistent headaches, tension headaches, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia and supraorbital neuralgia. He performs a variety of interventional procedures including botulinum toxin injections (Botox) for chronic migraine, cranial nerve blocks and trigger point injections.
Dr. Niaz is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Headache Society, the Headache Cooperative of the Northeast, the American Epilepsy Society (where he was selected as an AES Fellow for 2021-2022), and the American Academy of Neurology. He is dedicated to advancing medical education. He serves as an invited speaker, giving lectures on a broad range of neurologic topics to trainees as well as the community, reviews publications, and authored a textbook chapter on migraine for the World Headache Society.
