Frequently Asked Questions
What ages do you see for well-child visits and sick care?
I provide comprehensive primary care for children from birth through young adulthood, typically up to age 21. This includes everything from newborn check-ups and routine well-child visits to diagnosing and treating common illnesses that arise as your child grows.
What is your approach to immunizations and preventive care?
I am a strong advocate for preventive medicine to keep your child healthy. This includes following the recommended immunization schedule to protect against serious diseases. Well-child visits are our key opportunity to focus on prevention by monitoring growth, discussing nutrition and safety, and performing developmental screenings to ensure your child is meeting their milestones.
How do you manage common childhood illnesses like ear infections or colds?
My goal is to provide effective and timely care for acute illnesses. I diagnose and treat a wide range of common conditions, from colds and flu to ear infections and rashes. I also practice careful antibiotic stewardship, which means I only prescribe antibiotics when they are necessary for bacterial infections, ensuring we use them responsibly.
What is a CPNP-PC, and how do you work with pediatricians?
A Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care (CPNP-PC) is an advanced practice registered nurse with specialized graduate education and national certification in pediatric primary care. I can serve as your child's primary care provider, offering a full range of services. I work collaboratively with pediatricians and other specialists, and if your child ever needs more specialized care, I will facilitate a referral and coordinate with that specialist to ensure your child's health is managed as a team.
Philosophy of Care
Through a continued holistic approach to my medical care, I strive to identify root causes rather than simply treating symptoms, and to look beyond standard solutions to consider rare or less common conditions. I am dedicated to patient education and ensuring a complete understanding of every care decision made.
I value continuous learning and research, and am always open to discussions about medicine. Additionally, I strongly believe in the importance of preventive medicine and early screenings to help prevent many of the health challenges children face today.
