Anthony G Conte, MD

Anthony G. Conte, M.D., is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in complex and reconstructive spine surgery. He performs a wide array of procedures to treat scoliosis, spine conditions (degenerative, oncologic, and traumatic), spinal stenosis, spinal fusion, intradural spinal tumors, minimally invasive treatment of herniated discs, and abnormalities in the spinal cord, nerves, ligaments, vertebrae and discs.

Dr. Conte is extensively trained in minimally invasive surgical treatment of degenerative, oncologic, and traumatic spine conditions as well as cranial pathologies including brain tumors, brain hemorrhages and brain trauma.

While completing his residency training at Georgetown, Dr. Conte received the 'String of Pearls Resident Teaching Award'--an award given by students to recognize a resident's extraordinary teaching efforts. He then completed his fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was trained in open treatment of complex spine deformities, scoliosis, and spinal oncologic pathologies.

Dr. Conte is passionate about educating others on neurocritical care, which can be seen through his training and research. Dr. Conte has a number of publications on topics such as intracranial hemorrhage in COVID-19 patients, percutaneous minimally invasive direct pars repair and clinical and radiographic outcomes for anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.
