Carly Nicole Ray, MD

Carly Ray, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologist with a special focus on Headache Medicine. A proud NJ native, Dr. Ray is committed to advancing the field of headache medicine in her home state.
Focused on patients aged 18-years and older, Dr. Ray specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex headache disorders, including: migraine, menstrual migraine, headache treatment during pregnancy and in the postpartum period, cervicogenic headache, cluster headaches, trigeminal autonomic cephalgias, tension headaches, new daily persistent headaches, hypnic headaches, trigeminal neuralgia, occipital neuralgia, and concussion related headaches. She is proficient in the administration of botulinum toxin injections for chronic migraine, peripheral nerve blocks, and trigger point injections for myofascial pain.
Dr. Ray completed her neurology residency and an advanced UCNS-accredited fellowship in Headache Medicine at the prestigious Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She earned her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. She received her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and went on to earn a Certificate in Premedical Sciences from Columbia University in New York.
Dr. Ray is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Neurology and the American Headache Society. Her commitment to compassionate care was also recognized with her induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, an honor that reflects her dedication to treating patients with empathy and respect. She has contributed to multiple publications, including Frontiers in Human Neuroscience and Journal of Neurology, Psychiatry and Brain Research, and attended and presented at several conferences, research symposiums, annual meetings, and grand rounds.
