Carly Rothman, D.O. is a Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Physician. She received her medical degree from NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell where she served as chief resident. She went on to complete a fellowship in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine at Children's Hospital Colorado.

Dr. Rothman’s areas of interest include brain and spinal cord injury, concussion, cerebral palsy, electrodiagnosis (EMG) and neuromuscular medicine, and spasticity management. She is passionate about improving function and quality of life of children with disabilities using evidence-based medicine, exercise, bracing, equipment and therapy.

Dr. Rothman is an expert who frequently educates on the topics of Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography (NCS/EMG), pediatric neuromuscular disease, brain and spinal cord injury, and brachial plexus injury. In addition to serving children of all ages, Dr. Rothman will be joining the multi-specialty team that oversees all NICU follow-up care.

Philosophy of Care

I use a patient and family-centered approach, recognizing that interventions are the most successful when taking into account a patient and family's unique values and life circumstances. Knowing a patient and caregiver's functional goals is vital to creating a treatment plan. I work to identify and minimize barriers that may limit progress towards those goals. Education regarding diagnoses and treatments are a vital component of appointments.

Amazing Dr

As with all my past experiences visiting Hackensack, we received first class service. All the staff I came into contact with provided humane, empathetic and friendly service and treatment. Every time I leave that hospital and return home, I am filled with hope and optimism knowing that my son with special needs is in the best hands and that each of the doctors and all the medical staff have done everything within their capabilities to ensure that he has a better quality of life.
