Deborah L. Caputo, APN

Deborah L. Caputo, MSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive and specialized experience in the clinical care of patients with movement disorders. As an Advanced Practice Nurse with the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, she is a vital part of the Division of Movement Disorders team.

Ms. Caputo focuses on providing all aspects of disease-specific care for individuals with complex neurological conditions. Her expertise encompasses intricate medication management and the advanced programming and management of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) systems for patients.

Before joining Hackensack Meridian Health, Ms. Caputo spent over 20 years as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the Division of Movement Disorders at Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During her long tenure there, she was also deeply involved in advancing the field as a Research Study Coordinator for a vast number of clinical trials, contributing to the development of new therapies for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Her commitment to education is also demonstrated by her past role as an Adjunct Professor in the undergraduate nursing program at The College of New Jersey.

Ms. Caputo earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of New Jersey. She is a widely published author of scientific articles and abstracts and is a member of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
