Dora Ann Perez, APN

Dora A. Perez is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner specializing in the care of individuals with movement disorders. As a key member of the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, she is dedicated to providing patient-centered care for those with movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and Essential Tremor.

Her primary focus is on conducting comprehensive neurological assessments, developing and implementing medication management plans, and performing focused physical examinations to evaluate both motor and non-motor symptoms. Ms. Perez works collaboratively with neurologists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and improve the functional lives of her patients. She is also actively involved in the deep brain stimulation (DBS) program, assisting with patient selection, programming, and ongoing management in partnership with a movement disorder neurologist.

With an extensive background in pain management, Ms. Perez has held several nurse practitioner positions across New Jersey and New York. Her experience includes evaluating and treating acute and chronic pain, performing various types of injections, and prescribing appropriate drug therapies.

Ms. Perez earned her Master of Science in Nursing, with a specialization as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, from the College of Staten Island. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Adelphi University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Health Education from California State University, Fresno. She is a member of the Association of Movement Disorder Advanced Practice Providers and The American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
