Douglas Weinstein, M.D., is joining Hackensack Meridian Medical Group as the Director of GI Motility at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He is a board certified, fellowship trained gastroenterologist with a focus on disorders that affect gastrointestinal (GI) motility, the movement of food and waste products through the digestive tract. Previously, Dr. Weinstein served as the GI Motility Director at Capital Health Medical Center and the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, where he established both hospitals as tertiary referral centers for recurrent anemia, motility disorders, gastroparesis & refractory GERD.
With more than 16 years of experience treating a range of digestive conditions, he is one of the few physicians in the region who treats these conditions that cause debilitating symptoms and malnutrition with gastric electrical stimulation and other advanced therapies. He works with a collaborative team of surgeons, dieticians, physical therapists, radiologists, psychologists and other medical specialties to deliver holistic and compassionate care to all patients. Dr. Weinstein is fluent in French and speaks Spanish conversationally and is accepting new and previous patients with the below disorders for in person and virtual visits.
Dr. Weinstein specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of:
