Faiz E. Niaz, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurologist committed to accurately diagnosing and effectively managing both common and complex neurological disorders.
Dr. Niaz’s expertise encompasses the treatment of conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, headaches and migraines, and movement disorders including Parkinson's disease. Dr. Faiz is highly skilled in performing and interpreting a variety of diagnostic procedures, including electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies, and electroencephalograms (EEGs), to ensure an accurate diagnosis for each patient. He is adept at analyzing patient medical histories, conducting thorough neurological examinations, and developing personalized treatment plans that may include medication management and referrals for physical therapy or surgical intervention when necessary.
Dr. Niaz began his medical journey by earning his M.B.B.S. (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. He completed his neurology residency and fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology, Stroke, Epilepsy and Sleep at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee after an internal medicine internship at Michigan State University's Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Michigan.
ated to the advancement of neurological medicine, Dr. Niaz has been a principal investigator and sub-investigator for numerous clinical trials, including NIH-funded studies on acute ischemic stroke and epilepsy. He has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications on topics such as epilepsy, stroke, and dystonia. In recognition of his contributions, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
