Dr. Koerner is a board certified, fellowship trained, orthopedic spine surgeon. He is dedicated to providing his patients with personalized, evidence-based care. He believes that getting to know his patients as individuals is an important element in providing the best treatment. In addition to traditional surgery, Dr. Koerner utilizes minimally invasive techniques when appropriate, and will refer to colleagues for non-surgical treatment if surgery is not the answer. He combines his extensive clinical knowledge, technical expertise and the most advanced technology to deliver the best outcomes. Dr. Koerner’s goal is to restore function and range of motion so his patients can get back to doing the things they enjoy.

Dr. Koerner has authored numerous publications, book chapters, abstracts, poster and podium presentations and has co-edited two textbooks. He is involved in medical student education, as well as resident training. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) where he has served on multiple committees.

Dr. Koerner was extremely thorough and knowledgeable, answered all of my questions, and was extremely honest with potential outcomes that we discussed. There was no need during our conversation to discuss prevention of illness or injury as we were discussing an injury that's already occurred. I was very satisfied with my time with the doctor and I look forward to the doctor providing the potential surgery that I will most likely need on my back.
