Maliheh Mohamadpour, M.D., is a fellowship trained, board-certified Neuro-Oncologist who recently joined Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. Dr. Mohamadpour has an extensive background in medical research, Neurology, and medical education.


She completed her medical degree at Birjand University of Medical Sciences and began residency training in Neurology at The State University of New York. Dr. Mohamadpour further specialized in Neuro-Oncology during fellowship training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, New York. Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health, she held clinical and research leadership roles and has greatly contributed to the field of Neurology. Dr. Mohamadpour served as the Director of Research at the International Academy of Hope, and the Director of International Projects at the Sarah Jane Brain Foundation, centering on education, treatment, and prevention of traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Clinically, she founded a 50-bed nursing home for elderly and young patients requiring treatment for TBI's. and served as the first Medical Director. Additionally, Dr. Mohamadpour gained experience treating and managing Epilepsy cases during her time as Medical Director for the Epilepsy Department at Razavi Hospital.


With her background in clinical settings and research, Dr. Mohamadpour has a comprehensive overview of the challenging and diverse cases presented in the field of Neurology. Dr. Mohamadpour's current research delves into the cutting-edge realm of neuro-oncology, exploring promising avenues such as:


Immunotherapy for Glioma Treatment: Investigating the potential of immunotherapy to combat gliomas, a type of brain tumor. Clinical Trials for Glioma and Leptomeningeal Disease: Leading and participating in clinical trials to evaluate novel treatment strategies for glioma and leptomeningeal disease, a rare and aggressive form of cancer affecting the brain and spinal cord. Disparities in Neuro-Oncology: Addressing the critical issue of disparities in neuro-oncology care, ensuring equitable access to treatment and resources for all patients.
