Maria Kofman, DO

Maria Kofman, D.O., is a board certified, fellowship trained neurologist with a specialized focus in movement disorders. With an extensive background in research and education, Dr. Kofman is a knowledgeable physician who uses evidence-based medicine to provide individualized treatment plans for all patients.

Dr. Kofman’s expertise lies in diagnosing and managing conditions affecting movement and coordination, specializing in botulinum toxin therapy and deep brain stimulation (DBS) evaluation and programming. In addition, she treats the following conditions: Parkinson’s disease, essential tremors and dystonia, as well as atypical Parkinsonism, blepharospasm, chorea, dyskinesia, hemifacial spasm, lewy body dementia, meige syndrome, myoclonus, tic disorders and tourette syndrome.

After earning her medical degree from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYITCOM) in Long Island, New York, Dr. Korman went on to complete her neurology residency and movement disorder fellowship at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York. Dr. Kofman is a member of multiple professional organizations including the American Academy of Neurology, and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.

In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Kofman is engaged and passionate about medical education, delivering presentations and mentoring residents and medical students. She is in the process of applying for faculty appointment at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine.
