Michael Wilderman, M.D., has been at Hackensack University Medical Center since 2010, after completing his training at the University of Pennsylvania and Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He is currently the Chief of Endovascular Surgery and the Co-Director of the Hackensack Aortic Center. He is a world expert in the minimally invasive treatment of complex aortic pathologies, including Aortic Dissections, Aortic Aneurysms, and Aortic occlusions. He is at the forefront in the region for treating ascending and aortic arch aneurysms in a minimally invasive approach, providing solutions even when others had said none were possible. Dr. Wilderman is a national leader in treating aortic dissections, possessing extensive experience with a novel, specialized aortic dissection stent graft. His philosophy in treating aortic issues is to create a unique, least invasive patient-centered technique for each patient so they can return to their normal lives as quickly as possible.


Dr. Wilderman has been the Principal Investigator of multiple endovascular Aortic Stent Graft Trials. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and is routinely invited to speak about his experiences in this field at regional, national and international symposia and is widely published in this field.


Dr Wilderman also has extensive experience in the treatment of carotid artery occlusive disease and peripheral arterial disease, utilizing both open surgical and endovascular techniques to provide the best possible outcome for every patient.


Dr. Wilderman has the largest practice in the region for the treatment of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS), having trained at Washington University, in St Louis, MO, one of the nation's leading centers for TOS. Patients routinely travel from near and far to see him for their TOS condition, especially when other physicians and surgeons have dismissed their cases. His easygoing approach along with his surgical experience continue to put patients at ease in dealing with this challenging condition.


Dr Wilderman is an expert in performing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient endovascular and open procedures with a wealth of experience in the treatment of the following conditions:
