M. Jawad Latif, M.D., FACS, is a thoracic surgeon and a member of the Hackensack Meridian Health - Central Region. As a part of The Advanced Lung and Airway Center at JFK University Medical Center, Dr. Latif diagnoses and treats patients with both cancerous and non-cancerous disorders of the chest including lung, esophagus, mediastinum and diaphragm.

Dr. Latif completed his training in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center with focused training in the surgical management of complex benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus. He then received advanced fellowship training in thoracic surgical oncology and robotic surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Dr. Latif has previously held leadership roles in thoracic surgery at large health systems in New York and Maine. He serves as the Site Chief of Thoracic Surgery and Regional Chief of Esophageal Surgery for Hackensack Meridian Health - Central Region.

I feel Dr. Latif is an excellent doctor. I am just so lucky that I had his care and his skill in the very detailed surgery he did robotically on my lung. I would highly recommend him. I love him to death. I think he is a blessing to humankind.
