He grew up in Palisades Park, NJ, and graduated from Fordham Preparatory School, Bronx, NY, and Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He completed his residency at Rutgers Medical School and at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City.
Dr. Gallo has been a board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist since 1983. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Gallo is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at HackensackMeridian School of Medicine, and serves as Coordinator of Administrative Affairs for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hackensack University Medical Center.
Dr. Gallo maintained a private practice in Hackensack for over forty years. He has delivered over 5,000 babies. His practice was relocated to Hewitt, New Jersey in 2025.
Dr. Gallo is the Past President of the New Jersey Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. He is a member of the Medical Society of New Jersey, and the Bergen County Medical Society. He is a fellow of the American Fertility Society.
Dr. Gallo and his wife, Terrie have been married for 53 years, are the parents of nine biological children, have two adopted daughters, and an adopted son. Dr. & Mrs. Gallo have twenty grandchildren.

Does not integrate my health history in conversation. Refuses to hear about HS and mostly about pain when manipulating and dilating Cervix. After 4 procedures asking for anesthesia, I am refused. Not acceptable.

My visit with the doctor went very well, excellent. He was very professional and understood all my concerns and questions. The only thing I was a little unhappy with was the cost of the visit, as my insurance didn't cover it, so I didn't want to pay myself. At check-in, the woman mentioned that I couldn't pay myself. The visit would cost me around $300, but when I left the office, she told me I had to pay a total of $700, which I don't think is fair or right because, from the start, if they give me that information, the appointment wouldn't go through. But she didn't mention that the price could vary; she simply told me that the consultation was $300 or $350, but she didn't mention that it could change, and that doesn't seem right to me.

The only comment that I want to make is that I think that the nurses are overworked and understaffed, and it might be helpful for them to have some relief so that they can provide more assistance for Dr. Gallo. I had wanted an earlier appointment but was told none was available. I was told by the covering MD, who called me back, that there was a "Feminine Urgicare" on Rt 17 in Paramus that I should go to if I was too concerned to wait for my appointment. I did this and apparently was prescribed unnecessary medications and the actual issue was not addressed at all.

Well, I had called back for follow-up information, but he sent me back to an urgent care facility since they were the one that discovered the issue. So I felt like he should have been more, you know, willing to help me rather than going back to an urgent care. But that was fine. It had to do with a UTI and they did the culture. So it turned out there was more than one bacteria involved. I was calling for, you know, should I get another antibiotic? And he just referred me back to the other facility. So that was my only, I don't know. I went and they gave me the second antibiotic. But that's it.

When I got there, I was attended quickly. I've had Dr. Gallo for years. He delivered my children. He is amazing. He is now my oldest daughter's gynecologist. He's just amazing. When I made the appt the rep told me to come in 15 minutes early to provide my insurance cards. I did not need to do that as all my info was in your system. Other patients came in at or a couple of minutes before there appt time. It wasn't necessary for me to come in early. Also I was entered as a 'new patient'. Not correct! I'm an existing patient and have been for 10+ years.
