Robert James Gallo, MD

Robert James Gallo, M.D., FACOG, completed medical school at the University of Rome, Italy. He grew up in Palisades Park, NJ, and graduated from Fordham Preparatory School, Bronx, NY, and Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He completed his residency at Rutgers Medical School and at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in Jersey City.

Dr. Gallo has been a board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist since 1983. He is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Gallo is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at HackensackMeridian School of Medicine, and serves as Coordinator of Administrative Affairs for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hackensack University Medical Center.

Dr. Gallo maintained a private practice in Hackensack for over forty years. He has delivered over 5,000 babies. His practice was relocated to Hewitt, New Jersey in 2025.

Dr. Gallo is the Past President of the New Jersey Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. He is a member of the Medical Society of New Jersey, and the Bergen County Medical Society. He is a fellow of the American Fertility Society.

Dr. Gallo and his wife, Terrie have been married for 53 years, are the parents of nine biological children, have two adopted daughters, and an adopted son. Dr. & Mrs. Gallo have twenty grandchildren.
