Sara Mateen, DPM

Sara Mateen, DPM, AACFAS, is licensed in podiatric medicine and surgery and is part of Hackensack Meridian Medical Group. She is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and board eligible by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.  Dr. Mateen has extensive experience in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery such as forefoot and rearfoot reconstructive surgery, surgical management of  traumatic lower extremities, diabetic limb salvage, ankle arthroscopy, and sports medicine. She is affiliated with Hackensack University Medical Center, and is supported by a large practice of physicians and advanced practice providers who are experts in various orthopedic specialties. 

Prior to joining HMH, Dr. Mateen received training which focused on complex limb deformities  and orthoplastics surgical techniques at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics. She demonstrates exceptional knowledge and leadership skills in the field, and has served as a mentor for the Women in Medicine group at Temple Lewis Katz School of Medicine as well as a mentor for prospective podiatric students. In addition to her leadership skills, she has received numerous awards such as the Top Resident Physician in Foot and Ankle Surgery and Recognized Physician for the American Podiatric Medicine Association Young Physicians. In total, Dr. Mateen has presented, published, lectured, and authored on subjects relating to podiatry over 100 times, indicating her expertise and passion for the field.
