Vaqar Ahmed, MD

Vaqar Ahmed, M.D., is a board certified nephrologist who has recently joined the organ transplant team at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Ahmed specializes in transplant nephrology and has vast experience in taking care of kidney and pancreas transplant recipients. He provides each patient with a comprehensive evaluation and personalized treatment plan, fueled by the most up-to-date, evidence based medicine.

Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health, Dr. Ahmed was affiliated with Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He was also an Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and served as the Associate Program Director for Nephrology Fellowship.He is an active member of the American Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Transplantation.
