For more than four decades, I have had the privilege of providing total care for children, from their first days as infants through their transition into young adulthood. My journey into medicine was sparked by a lifelong love of science and the values my parents instilled in me to pursue a career dedicated to helping people. This commitment is reflected in my strong advocacy for full immunization to provide children with the safest and most effective protection available. Above all, my patients' well-being is my highest priority. I strive to honor patients' trust by making myself as accessible as reasonably possible for your questions and concerns.

Philosophy of Care

My approach to pediatric care is rooted in a collaborative partnership with you and your family. I believe in being thoughtful with medical interventions, meaning we will always explore all avenues before deciding on a course of action, and use medication only when it is truly necessary. A crucial part of this partnership is empowering you as a parent. I often tell parents to "trust your gut." You know your child better than anyone. By combining my medical expertise with your intuitive understanding of your child's needs, we can make the best, most well-rounded decisions for their health and well-being.

Dr. Geneslaw's Frequently Asked Questions

What health and wellness advice, related to your specialty, do you often share with patients to maintain their health?

  • A fundamental aspect of my practice is the careful use of medication. While medications are vital for treating many childhood illnesses, I stress to parents that they should be used only when absolutely necessary. Overusing medications can result in unwanted side effects. My approach involves collaborating with parents to determine the best course of action and exploring alternative options first.

What medical or health care topics are you most passionate about sharing with the community?

  • I am an advocate for full and timely immunization for all children. Vaccinations are the most effective way to protect children from a multitude of serious and potentially life-threatening diseases. Following the recommended immunization schedule ensures your child develops immunity at the most critical times in their development. I understand that parents may have questions or concerns, and I am dedicated to providing clear, evidence-based information to help you feel confident in your decision to vaccinate.

Why do wellness visits matter?

  • Well-child visits are the cornerstone of preventive pediatric care. These appointments are crucial for monitoring your child's growth and developmental milestones, administering important immunizations, and catching potential health issues before they become serious. It's also a dedicated time for you to ask questions about nutrition, sleep, safety, and behavior, so we can partner to ensure your child is thriving.

What is your policy on same-day sick appointments?

  • We understand that children get sick unexpectedly. We always do our best to accommodate same-day appointments for sick children. Please call our office as early in the day as possible so we can find a time for your child to be seen.
