Faiz Bhora, MD

Faiz Y. Bhora, M.D., FACS, serves as Professor of Surgery at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and holds the prestigious roles of Regional Chair of Surgery and Chief of Thoracic Surgery for Hackensack Meridian Health’s Central Region. He has established one of the highest-volume thoracic surgery practices in the region, distinguished by outstanding outcomes and pioneering innovations. His program offers ultra-sophisticated care—including robotic bronchoscopy diagnostics, the state-of-the-art da Vinci 5 platform, and AI-driven 3-D surgical planning for lung cancer resections—providing life-saving operations. Under Dr. Bhora’s visionary leadership, JFK University Medical Center launched the Advanced Lung and Airway Center, delivering personalized care across both cancerous and non-cancerous respiratory diseases.

An internationally recognized expert in minimally invasive and robotic thoracic and airway surgery, Dr. Bhora also spearheads translational research in regenerative medicine, including groundbreaking work in 3-D bioprinting of the trachea, tracheal regeneration, and outcomes research in lung and esophageal cancer. A committed educator and mentor, he has guided over 350 medical students, dozens of residents and fellows, and 15 post-doctoral researchers, while also contributing thought leadership to national surgical societies.
