Hyman Gregory Frankel, MD

Gregory Frankel, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery. He has a particular interest in spinal deformity, computer-assisted navigation in spinal fusions, minimally invasive spine surgery, as well as resident and medical student education.
Following a neurosurgical internship and residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, he obtained a fellowship in Complex and Reconstructive Spine Surgery where he focused on spinal deformity and revision surgery. While in residency, Dr. Frankel helped develop a resident curriculum for training on a spinal surgery simulator and regularly worked in the skull base lab teaching junior residents and medical students.
Dr. Frankel has been published in multiple peer-reviewed scientific journals and his work has been presented at multiple national conferences.
Philosophy of Care
Motivated to pursue a career in medicine after witnessing his mom suffer a major Multiple Sclerosis attack, Dr. Frankel strives to care for others with the same blend of compassion and expertise as he would his own family.
