Roy D. Vingan, M.D., is a board-certified neurosurgeon. Consistently ranked as a top doctor by Castle Connolly, New York Magazine and New Jersey Monthly, Dr. Vingan is a respected leader in his field and considered one of the nation’s leading spine surgeons.

Dr. Vingan works with his patients to develop a comprehensive and unique treatment plan that addresses a patient’s condition. He specializes in neurotrauma and neurovascular work, including the care of back and neck pain, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, spinal tumors, vascular malformations and other degenerative conditions. He has an extensive background in minimally invasive spine surgery and all spinal reconstructive procedures.

He is a strong advocate of conservative care, but when surgery is appropriate, he uses state-of-the-art techniques to improve outcomes and speed recovery. He was among the first in New Jersey to use frameless cranial and spinal navigation systems, endoscopic cranial and spinal techniques and other minimally invasive brain and spine procedures. He is considered a leader in the field of lateral access techniques for spinal reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Vingan is a member of multiple professional organizations. This includes the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, New Jersey Neurosurgical Society, North American Spine Society, and the Society for Minimally Invasive Spinal Surgery, to name a few.

Philosophy of Care

Dr. Vingan’s primary goal is to make a patient feel comfortable and educate them on all of their options. He recognizes his patients may have a fear of surgery and takes the time to fully explain their condition, treatment and care.
