Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is a urologic oncologist?
A cancer surgeon who specializes only in cancers of the urinary system, like the prostate, kidney, and bladder.

2. I have prostate cancer. Does that always mean surgery?
Not always. For slow-growing cancers, we might just watch it closely. If treatment is needed, surgery is a very effective option, but we will discuss all choices to find the best path for you.

3. What is robotic surgery for prostate or kidney cancer?
It's a type of "keyhole" surgery where the surgeon uses a console to control robotic arms. This lets us be very precise through tiny cuts, which means less pain and a faster recovery for you.

4. What are the signs of bladder cancer?
The most common sign is seeing blood in your urine, usually without any pain. If you ever see this, it's very important to get it checked out by a urologist right away.
