Lauren Fischer, MD

Lauren J. Fischer, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon with advanced expertise in minimally invasive abdominal surgery. Born and raised in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Dr. Fischer is proud to provide high-quality surgical care to the community she calls home.

Dr. Fischer has been a trusted member of the Hackensack Meridian Health Network for more than 15 years, joining after completing fellowship training. She was the first surgeon at her affiliated hospitals to offer specialized training in minimally invasive surgical techniques, helping bring advanced, patient-centered care to the region. 

She previously served as Chair of Surgery at Bayshore Medical Center, becoming the first female Chair of Surgerysince the hospital’s founding. Today, she continues her leadership role as Vice President of the Medical Staff at Bayshore Medical Center and is a proud graduate of the Hackensack Meridian Health Physician Leadership Academy, which supports physician leadership development across New Jersey.

Dr. Fischer leads a highly experienced surgical team and is the senior member working alongside Dr. Jessica Treto and Erica LoBuglio, PA-C, ensuring coordinated and compassionate care for every patient.
