Lauren Fischer, MD

Lauren J. Fischer, MD, FACS, is a board certified general surgeon who is an expert in minimally invasive abdominal surgery. She was born and raised in Monmouth County and enjoys continuing to serve her New Jersey community. Dr. Fischer has been a part of the Hackensack Meridian Health Network for over 10 years upon completing her fellowship training. She was the first surgeon to practice at her affiliated hospitals with specialized training in Minimally Invasive Surgery.

Professionally, Dr. Fischer is an active member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the American College of Surgeons and an Invited Reviewer for Surgical Endoscopy. In the past, Dr. Fischer held the position of Chair of Surgery at Bayshore Medical Center for many years and was the first female Chair of Surgery since the hospital was founded. She is proud to be part of the inaugural HMH Physician Leadership Academy which guides physicians as they grow into leaders in their community. Dr. Fischer is the senior member of her surgical team with expert colleagues, Dr. Jessica Treto and Erica LoBuglio, PA-C.
