Lava Patel, M.D. is a board-certified, fellowship trained general surgeon specializing in advanced minimally invasive general, bariatric, and foregut surgery. Having trained at the top academic programs in the country, Dr. Patel possesses specialized expertise in utilizing cutting-edge laparoscopic, endoscopic and robotic techniques to treat a variety of complex surgical conditions.

As a recognized contributor to his field, he has published several scientific articles focused on optimizing outcomes in hernia and foregut surgery. He has also held multiple leadership roles in his career, including director of robotic surgery for resident trainees as part of Seton Hall University.
