Michael Patrick Del Rosario, MD

Michael Patrick Del Rosario, M.D., FACS, FASCRS is a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon at Hackensack Meridian Southern Ocean Medical Center. He has been serving the South Jersey community continuously since 2003 and was the first surgeon in this area to perform minimally invasive colon resection. Dr. Del Rosario specializes in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery techniques, increasing accuracy, shortening hospital stay and recovery time. His practice interests include treatment of colon cancers and low rectal cancers, benign diseases such as diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel disease, and anorectal problems such as hemorrhoids and complex fistulae.

Dr. Del Rosario is board-certified in general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. Before joining the Southern Ocean Medical Center team, Dr. Del Rosario served as Director of the Division of Colorectal Surgery at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway, New Jersey. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons.

Dr. Del Rosario is a member of professional medical societies including the New Jersey Medical Society, the Philippine American Medical Society of New Jersey, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.In his personal time, he loves spending time with his children and enjoying the South Jersey shore. He holds a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer license and enjoys SCUBA diving and fishing. He is a strong advocate of patient education and frequently gives free seminars to the public on various topics from hemorrhoidal disease to gallbladder stones to colon cancer.
