Frequently Asked Questions
What are your Clinical Interests?
What are typical conditions you'd like to see more patients with and what symptoms would they have to be evaluated? I am interested in taking care of pediatric patients with diabetes and endocrine concerns, including disorders related to the adrenal, thyroid, puberty, growth, I am particularly interested in lipid disorders.
When should my child see a pediatric endocrinologist?
Your pediatrician may refer your child to me if they have concerns about growth, puberty, or other hormone-related issues. Some common reasons for a referral include signs of early or delayed puberty, if your child is growing much slower or faster than their peers, or if they have symptoms of diabetes. If you have any concerns, it is always best to start with a visit to your pediatrician, who can then determine if a specialist's care is needed.
What are the most common conditions you treat?
In my practice, I treat a wide range of conditions related to hormonal imbalances in children. The most common issues I manage are growth disorders, such as short stature, and problems with the timing of puberty. I also frequently treat children with all types of diabetes, providing them and their families with the tools and education for long-term management. Additionally, I diagnose and treat thyroid disorders (both overactive and underactive thyroid), adrenal gland disorders, and issues with calcium and bone metabolism.
Philosophy of Care
I believe in a family-centered approach and the importance of creating a supportive environment that allows the parents and the child to feel comfortable and informed.
