Seth M. Kipnis, M.D., FACS, FASMBS, is a board-certified general surgeon with over 25 years of experience specializing in minimally invasive, robotic, and bariatric surgery. He has been a dedicated member of the Monmouth County medical community for over 15 years. Dr. Kipnis currently holds key leadership positions as the Medical Director of Bariatric and Robotic Surgery and Chief of Bariatric Surgery at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He is also a valued member of the Hackensack Meridian Medical Group and sees patients at the Center for Weight Management at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

He is part of the faculty practice at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a top-ranked hospital in New Jersey, giving him access to state-of-the-art technology and a full spectrum of support services for his patients.
A respected educator, Dr. Kipnis serves as a Core Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine, where he actively instructs residents and medical students. His commitment to advancing the field is also evident through his numerous publications and presentations at national meetings, such as the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He has also been featured in discussions regarding new weight loss medications.
Dr. Kipnis is at the forefront of innovative treatments, collaborating with specialists to offer novel procedures such as gastric electrical stimulator therapy for gastroparesis. Under his leadership, the bariatric surgery center at Jersey Shore University Medical Center became the first in New Jersey to be accredited as a Comprehensive Center with Adolescent and Obesity Medicine Qualifications by the MBSAQIP.
Dr. Kipnis is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellow of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (FASMBS). He maintains active memberships in several professional organizations, including the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
