William W Maggio, MD

William W. Maggio, M.D., is a board-certified, fellowship-trained neurosurgeon who specializes in brain and pituitary tumors. 

As a member of the Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at Jersey Shore University Medical Center’s neurosurgical team, Dr. Maggio employs minimally invasive and complex techniques to treat a wide array of conditions, including awake craniotomy and stereotactic radiosurgery, including ZAP-X Radiosurgery and Gamma Knife. 

Dr. Maggio completed his neurosurgery residency at University of Virginia Health Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia, and completed his neurosurgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York. Committed to educating the next generation of neurosurgeons, Dr. Maggio has held several academic faculty positions in New Jersey, Texas and Maryland. He currently serves as Vice Chair of Neurosurgery and Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine. 

As a member of several professional organizations, including Fellow American Association of Neurological Surgeons (FAANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons, AANS/CNS Joint Section on Tumors, Neurotrauma and Critical Care, Fellow American College of Surgeons (FACS) and Society for NeuroOncology (SNO).
