Aria M. Jamshidi, M.D. is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in Complex Reconstructive and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. As a member of the neurosurgical team at Hackensack Meridian Neuroscience Institute at JFK University Medical Center, Dr. Jamshidi treats a broad range of spinal and cranial conditions, including back pain, congenital abnormalities, degenerative spine disease, adult scoliosis, spinal cord compression, spinal stenosis, spinal infections, spinal tumors, meningiomas, schwannomas and cysts, spinal cord injuries, herniated discs, as well as complex brain tumors, and cerebrovascular disease.

Dr. Jamshidi completed neurosurgical residency at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida, remaining at the institution to complete a two-year fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Jamshidi then completed an open vascular and skull base fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.

Having trained with pioneers of neurosurgery at some of the top institutions in the world, Dr. Jamshidi uses state-of-the-art intraoperative technologies that aim to make surgeries safer and less invasive, including three-dimensional computer-assisted navigation, endoscopy, robotics, and augmented reality. Dr. Jamshidi has particular expertise in endoscopic spine surgery, and maintains the full range of open and minimally invasive techniques needed to manage complex spinal pathology — with a special interest in disorders of the craniocervical junction. This breadth allows Dr. Jamshidi to tailor the least invasive approach appropriate to each patient's condition, from straightforward degenerative disease to the most complex spinal reconstructions.
