The Bariatric Center stopped my Wegovy Rx and I had to wait three months for an appointment to get a new Rx. I was initially prescribed by my PCP. I was told the reason being because I stopped the Wegovy for 1.5 months. I stopped because I had procedure(s) scheduled and asked to stop weightloss meds which increases the risk of aspiration per MD. Each procedure required 2 -3 weeks off the meds contingent on the MD. I gained 18lbs. I have cord compression c5-c7 and radiculopathy L4-L5 both requiring Fusions which I postponed, because I spent 11 months LOA, due to L3 to L4 Fusion in 2023. The time off did not agree with me. I was originally told I can continue with Wegovy until my appointment and the Rx would be called in. Two days later I were told the APN/PA denied me continuing until I have my appointment. With speaking with me directly. I called many times asking if there were cancelations but no luck. I am a RN with HMH and I do not understand why the wait if I have been on the medication for over three years and had to stop per MD orders.

The provider I spoke with was a physician assistant. Whether it's a choice by Hackensack Meridian or Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield to send team members to the weight loss, it should be better organized. This provider did not discuss my labs I was told to obtain. My blood pressure, my weight was not obtained. The provider was making food recommendations for me however, she is not a registered dietitian. She told me to consume beef jerky as a snack however, beef jerky is high in sodium and I have high blood pressure. She told me consume 3 boiled eggs in the morning, however, I have high cholesterol. The point I am making is, if Hackensack Meridian is now sending team members to the weight loss center, have a registered dietitian available, make appointments at a location near the team members home in order to obtain an initial weight, vital signs, the provider should know the team members labs results and discuss them appropriately. This experience was terrible to be honest. I'd rather see a nurse practitioner who specializesin weight loss. The physician assistant did not care about me or my medical history. She was not good.

She is so kind, informative and understanding. She listened and provided great feedback and alternative. Highly recommend her.

My visit started 15 minutes earlier after I received a text saying that she was ready if I was ready, which was very nice. She's very conscientious and provided useful information during our visit about going forward and currently what's happening. I pressed no for information on how to not injure myself, but I felt that was a not applicable question. I wish I had an N.A. for some of those. But she's wonderful, and I already made my appointment to speak with her in August. So I look forward to her visit again, and she's really helping me. Thank you.

After waiting close to 3 month for this appointment. The provider explain everything that I need to know. And I was seen before my scheduled appointment. I want to thank her for all the hard work she does.

I had a very good experience with my provider. I think the one thing that could be improved is that we only had audio and I think that it's much easier to connect with the provider if you have video as well. So I would try and recommend that you put video in more of your visits.

Dr. Patel is great. I love her. The warmth there, you feel like family at the Hackensack Meridian family. It is a great experience. I'm losing weight and I'm feeling healthier and better.
